A name and a date. Done.

Step 1

A label you can replace

Write on tape when labelling reusable containers. When the contents change, replace the label instead of leaving several old descriptions on the same box.

Step 2

Know what to use first

A name and preparation date help you find the sauce or stock you need and decide which portion to use first. The marker is for packaging and labels, not for writing directly on food.
